dean kageler is owner of axis millwork and fabrications, a new orleans based full-service woodworking shop that offers cutting edge woodworking technology. established in 1996 as an environment in which to further hone wood crafting skills, the axis studio and production shop incorporates cnc technology (computer numerically controlled) into 3,000 square feet of production space with the full complement of tools to craft the most challenging of wood designs.
as an experienced wood craftsman, with professional experiences as a custom builder in the pacific northwest and as a local project superintendent in the commercial construction industry, dean has grown axis into a well respected millwork shop that offers full services; from concept and design to custom fabrication, finishing, and installation. axis work, always managed and led by dean, pursues maximum quality in the craft of woodworking and combines patience, observance, accuracy, and intent with the human touch.
