joe doherty, originally from northeastern ohio, has made new orleans his home since 1993. during a 15-year first career as a mastering engineer working with many of new orleans’ finest musicians he learned to communicate esoteric artistic musical ideas with clients where spoken language was not always the primary form of communication. joe’s special skills smoothed the way into his second career as a custom furniture designer and builder. joe easily moves from initial discussion of a project, to detailed planning and realization of heirloom furniture. joe enjoys and excels at making custom and unusual projects constructed from exotic and domestic wood.
